What I am calling “North County East” is basically the eastern part of San Diego’s north county along the I-78 corridor (so Escondido on the eastern end and then west to San Marcos and finally, Vista). Eastern north county cities like Poway and Ramona have their own videos that I’ve done. So for this one, let’s do:
- The Library in Escondido (late 90s)
- An unknown emo venue in Escondido (late 90s/early 2000s)
- The Escondido Music Trader (new and used record store or the 90s/2000s)
- The Iceoplex (now abandoned ice rink that my 90s/2000s punk band, Camerica, played once)
- San Marcos Guitar Center (where I got my second drum set used in both Gimp and Camerica)
- Vista Entertainment Center (now demolished bowling alley that had a small room for punk shows)
And I’m remembering now that Gimp also played a community center somewhere in Escondido once.
