As a San Diegan, my LA punk rock knowledge is limited compared to locals but in this video, I revisit most of the Los Angeles venues and related sites that I have experiences at. They are:
- Ameraycan Recording Studios (where my band, Camerica, recorded)
- The Roxy (where Social Distortion recorded their live album and where I witnessed MxPx and Parker Theory play a major label, industry, showcase once)
- The Troubadour (where Camerica played)
- An extinct Inglewood venue that Camerica played
But I missed a couple stops. I never went by:
- The Glasshouse (the Inland Empire’s all-ages venue, like Soma)
- Getronik Studios (which were Crenshaw band rehearsal studios but had a corner of it cordoned off for live shows)…
I believe this Face to Face video may have been filmed at Getronik. It looks a lot like how it was but I could be wrong…
